Bag for shrouding the heart

The bag (2), to hold a heart (1) and shroud it at least partially, is a bag (2) with pliable walls. The bag (2) is of an elastic material, with a decreasing elasticity on increased stretch. The elastic bag material is a film, woven or knitted fabric. The bag (2) wall can be of plastics or a biological material such as denatured bovine pericardium. The bag wall can be a netting (3) coated with an open-pore silicon foam.
