The inking unit has a cleaning device for the inking rolls. This has a distribution tube running along the rolls, carrying a specified amount of cleaning fluid to be applied via several outlet necks to the rolls. There is a droplet bath under the necks of the rolls. The cleaning fluid (5) collected in the bath (4) is sucked out by a suction tube (6), which has an outlet aperture (8) via which the fluid collected from the bath is fed back onto the rolls.
