PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device decreased in the number of wires. SOLUTION: This memory device is provided with a function generator generating a lot of various output functions used in the memory device in response to N-pieces of supplied control signals, a control path 20 having one input terminal and N-pieces of output terminals and selectively generating N-pieces of control signals to the N-pieces output terminals in parallel, a means for connecting the N-pieces of output terminals of the control path 20 to the function generator, and a data input and control circuit which is connected with the control path 20, serially supplies control signals to the control path 20, also propagating the control signals along the control path 20 and then supplies the N-pieces of control signals to the function generator in parallel and selectively.
