Production of steel work pieces

To produce work pieces from metal strips, by shearing and especially precision cutting, the strip material is heated to a semi-hot temp. of 480-820 deg C in the case of steel, before shearing or precision cutting. The steel material is worked at a temp. of 570-600 deg C. The material is cut or shaped by a stamp, which is coated by plasma vapor deposition (PVD). The sheet section is heated in a second stage (2) to be passed to a third stage (3) for heating to the working temp. The material is cut wholly or partially in the fourth stage (4).
