PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a tip part of an endoscope to be of a watertight structure without arranging a transparent material on the front face of a light-emitting diode, and also without enlarging an outer diameter of the tip part. SOLUTION: A light-emitting diode 19 as a lighting means for emitting illuminating light in the side-looking direction (the direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of an insertion part 2) is soldered on a substrate 21, and a power source cable 20 is also soldered on the substrate 21 and they are fastened to B main body 22 by screw A23 in a one body state. The light-emitting diode 19 is fixed on the B main body 22 together with the substrate 22, and then the periphery of the light-emitting diode 19 including the light-emitting face is completely filled with an almost transparent filler 24. Thus, the light- emitting diode 19 is not only protected from the outside but also kept to be watertight by being covered with this filler 24 up to the upper face thereof 19.
