摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of necessary lead-pins in a both side light- emitting VFD. SOLUTION: An anode terminal 18p common to both terminal pads 48, 50 is made to abut on a terminal pad 48 and a terminal pad 50 connected to an anode, and a grid terminal 18g is made to abut on the terminal pad 48 and the terminal pad 50 connected to a grid electrode mutually independently relative to each of the both terminal pads 48, 50. Therefore, a great number of anodes equipped on both display surfaces 20, 22 are connected to the common anode terminal 18p on both display surfaces 20, 22 to thereby reduce the number of the terminals roughly by half. In this case, as the grid electrodes on both display surfaces 20, 22 are made independent mutually, there is no trouble on driving, even if the anodes on both display surfaces 20, 22 are connected to the common anode terminal 18p. And light can be emitted selectively from plural phosphor layers formed on both display surfaces 20, 22 following the divisions determined beforehand. Therefore, the number of necessary terminals 18 can be reduced in a both side light-emitting VFD.
