摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the air enfoldment of a coating resin in a coating device for coating a glass fiber with a coating resin. SOLUTION: This method for producing an optical element fiber comprises drawing a glass fiber 3 from an optical fiber base material 1, disposing charging electrodes 4 at places near to the travel route of the glass fiber 3 before coated with a coating resin 10, thereby charging the surface of the glass fiber, and then coating the surface of the glass fiber with a coating resin 10 by the use of a coating device 9. While the surface of the glass fiber is charged, a high direct current voltage having a polarity opposite to the charge of the glass fiber may furthermore be added to the coating device 9 to give a charge having the opposite polarity to the glass fiber-contacting side surface of the coating resin 10 passing through the coating device 9. Thereby, the effect for preventing the air enfoldment of the coating resin can further be enhanced.
