PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printing system capable of conveniently performing printing and facsimile transmission. SOLUTION: In this printing system consisting of a client which is mutually connected onto the same network 3 and transmits data and a printer 2 which is connected to a public line 4 and prints the data from the client 1, the client 1 is provided with an application 10 preparing a transmission original, a printer driver 11 performing operation control of the printer 2 and a communicating part 12 which performs data transmission and reception with the printer 2 through the network 3, and the printer 2 is provided with a communicating part 12 which receives data from the client 1, a command analyzing part 13 analyzing the received data, a printing part 14 printing the data on paper, a data converting part 15 converts print data into data for facsimile transmission and a facsimile transmitting part 16 which performs facsimile transmission of the data for facsimile transmission.
