PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal in which the capacity of a memory or the like that temporarily holds an error caused by an error spread system can be easily reduced. SOLUTION: This invention provides the facsimile terminal that adopts the error spread system to calculate an error of each pixel and converts the pixel value of each pixel while temporarily holding the error to an error memory (RAM 12) in order to distribute error to other pixels. A CPU 10 reduces the bit number of the error on the basis of a function approximated to a sigmoid type function in the writing of the error to the error memory and writes the error whose bit number is reduced to the error memory.
