PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for packaging by an oriented film by which a package 5 can be easily opened without using an opening tool such as a cutter knife. SOLUTION: In a conventional packaging apparatus in which a roll of a plastic film is revolved around an article to be packaged while the article is transferred, and a strip plastic film unwound from the roll is helically wound around the article to be packaged, a film of the package obtained by the packaging system is wound up too tightly, thus the film can not be torn with bare hands and opening has been too difficult. In the packaging apparatus, a cutaway forming portion 22 is provided in the packaging apparatus 1, and a cutaway portion 8 is formed along a transfer direction on a film 7 which was wound around the package 5.
