PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoch-making ultrasonic search unit for an ultrasonic diagnostic device which is capable of accurately obtaining somatic tomograms of a subject without making an adjustment of an original position of an encoder that requires several adjustment processes or troublesome adjustment of transducer properties. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic search unit 1 of this ultrasonic diagnostic device is equipped with a transducer 100 that alternately performs the conversion of ultrasonic waves to be transmitted to a subject and that of ultrasonic waves reflected inside the subject into electric signals, an encoder 102 that detects a rotary angle of the transducer 100 and a storage section 108 that stores an information of both the encoder 102 and the transducer 100, wherein the adjustment of the original position of the encoder 102 in respect to the rotary angle to be detected and that of the properties of the transducer 100 are conducted in accordance with the aforementioned information.
