PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press roll applied to a pressing step for papermaking machines, a calender step, etc., by which exchange of a flexible blanket can readily, reasonably and uniformly be carried out in a short time. SOLUTION: In this press roll, the blanket 10 is fastened in the vertical direction to a first taper surface 11a by the first taper surface 11a provided on the outer peripheral surface of a supporting head 11 and having a tapered shape toward the outside in the axial direction and a first fastening surface 12a provided on the inner peripheral surface of a fastening member 12 and having such shape as to coincide with the first taper surface 11a.
