PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve product quality by preventing the production of an abnormal sound, which is caused by the backlash of a link arm 14 in the valve timing control device of an internal combustion engine having a constitution for displacing one end side of the link arm 14 in the peripheral direction by sliding the other end radially as a mounting angle adjusting mechanism 4 for relatively displacing the mounting angle between a drive plate 2 to which rotation is transmitted from the internal combustion engine and a spacer 8, which is integral with a cam shaft 1. SOLUTION: In the valve timing control device of the internal combustion engine which is constituted such that when the link arm 14 of the mounting angle adjusting mechanism 4 is displaced along with the movement of the cylindrical section 14a in a radial direction so that the mounting angle between the cam shaft 1 and the drive plate 2 is relatively displaced, the link arm 14 is arranged so that it abuts on a guide plate 24 and the drive plate 2 slidably.
