PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth continuous cooling operation without stopping a compressor even in the case of pressure rise on the side of a discharge port of the compressor during the cooling operation at a high ambient temperature. SOLUTION: A compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, an expansion valve 4, an indoor heat exchanger 5 and an accumulator 6 are connected with one another in sequence, and a bypass 11 with a relief valve 12 is provided between a connection pipe 7 connecting the compressor 1 to the four-way valve 2 and the accumulator 6. During the cooling operation at a high ambient temperature, a high pressure cooling medium on the discharge side of the compressor 1 is circulated in the accumulator 6 via the bypass 11, thereby preventing the stop of the compressor 1 with the pressure rise and smoothing cooling operation with a reduction in the amount of the cooling medium flowing a cooling medium circuit.
