PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method of rice cooking capable of using an arbitrary container and boiling rice speedily with reduced labor. SOLUTION: A container 8 in which rice 9 is housed is sealed with a sealing lid 5, and water supplied from a water supply pipe 1 is heated in a boiler part 2 to generate steam. Then the generated steam is supplied to the inside of the container 8 through a steam outlet 6a of a steam outlet part 6 via a steam pipe 4. Moisture is supplied to the rice 9 in the container 8 by the steam, and the rice 9 is pressurized, heated and boiled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
