PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving body system having a position detecting means capable of detecting the position of a moving body inexpensively and compactly. SOLUTION: A magnetic detecting part is installed on a moving part so as to correspond to a fixed magnet arrayed with a plurality of magnets. The magnetic field detected by a magnetic detected is varied in response to a moving distance since a relative positional relation between the magnetic detector and the fixed magnet is changed in response to the moving of the moving body. As a result thereof, the position of the moving body is calculated based on a detection result of the magnetic field detected by the magnetic detector. A linear scale or the like as in an optical method is not required separately to constitute the position detecting means compactly and inexpensively, since the position detecting means can be constituted by using the existing fixed magnet for a linear motor.
