PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for automatically opening a door of a refrigerator or the like from either right or left side and to provide a door opening/ closing apparatus improved in usability by shortening the stroke of a drive unit for an automatic door opening apparatus to enable automatic opening with small generating force. SOLUTION: The door 7 provided at the front opening part of a body storage chamber 2 is displaced in an opening direction by holding hinge pins 11 provided on both right and left sides of the front opening part, into cam grooves 17 formed at both end upper and lower faces of the door 7, and moving the cam grooves in the state of being engaged with the hinge pins by door opening operation from one side, and the door 7 can be opened from both right and left directions by journaling the hinge pins on the other side into the cam grooves by the displacement. Door opening mechanisms 21 for opening the door by pressing a door face by a projecting member 26 projected by the operation of a switch 9 are provided on both sides of the front opening part.
