GEMINI-TYPE SURFACTANTS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING MESOPOROUS MATERIALS USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Gemini-type surfactants and a method for preparing mesoporous materials using the same are provided, thereby regularly distributing pores having a diameter of 10 nm or less in the mesoporous materials. CONSTITUTION: Gemini-type surfactants represented by the formula(1) are provided, wherein R1 and R2 are independently methyl or ethyl; R3 is C5-C40 alkyl; X is halogen atom; r is independently hydrogen, methyl, C1-C10 alkoxy; n is an integer of 1 to 12; and m is an integer of 0 to 10. A method for preparing gemini-type surfactants of the formula(1) comprises the steps of: mixing a compound of the formula(2) with a compound of the formula(3) of R3R2R1N in a mole ratio of 1:1 to 1:5; and reacting them in a solvent such as ethanol, acetonitrile or toluene at 30 to 120 deg. C for 1 to 100 hours. A method for preparing mesoporous materials comprises the steps of: (a) mixing the gemini-type surfactants solution with a precursor; (b) regulating pH of the mixed solution with acid or base; (c) hydrothermal reaction of the mixture; (d) filtering, washing and drying the reaction product; and (e) calcination of the dried product.
