PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate ink contamination within an ink-jet printer, and to particularly provide an ink-jet printer which can prevent contamination due to an outflow of ink at the time of releasing attachment of an ink cartridge from a needle member. SOLUTION: In the ink-jet printer, when the ink cartridge 7 is pierced into a body case 2 by the attachment, the ink cartridge 7 is made to communicate with a recording head by the hollow needle member 26. A dent-shaped ink outlet 45 having an upper part opened is set at a position vertically below the needle member 26 at a supporting member 2a which supports the ink cartridge 7 of the body case 2.
