PAPER TRAY, AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper tray capable of preventing breakage of a detection sensor caused by collision of document or paper against the detection sensor or damage of the document or the like and detecting the document securely and to provide an automatic document feeding device and an image forming apparatus using this paper tray. SOLUTION: This paper tray is provided with a paper loading face 2 for loading the document and the document detection sensor provided on the paper loading face 2 to detect the document. The document detection sensor is the contact type detection sensor provided with a movable detection part having a protruding part 5 protruding substantially vertically for the paper loading face 2. The direction of installation of the protruding part 5 is not substantially parallel and substantially vertical for the direction of document conveyance. According to this document tray 11 provided on the paper loading face 2, the protruding part 5 in the document detection sensor or the document is not damaged to detect the document securely when loading the document.
