PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize an ion generation amount in an indoor unit of an air conditioner of wall hanging type provided with an ion generator. SOLUTION: This indoor unit 2 of the air conditioner 1 is attached to a wall face in an air conditioning room and is provided with a unit casing 23 having substantially box shape, a blowing fan 22, and a negative ion generator 71. The unit casing 23 has inlet ports 52a, 54d formed in a front upper part and on a ceiling face, a blow-out port 55b formed in a front lower part, and a ventilation passage S connecting the inlet ports 52a, 54d with the blow-out port 55b inside it. The blowing fan 22 is arranged in the ventilation passage S to suck indoor air from the inlet ports 52a, 54d and blow out air from the blow-out port 55b.
