PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink tank which is capable of surely fixing onto a carriage, in which a detecting part for a residual amount of an ink is not eluted into the ink, and on the material of which being an article of consumption, reuse is taken into consideration. SOLUTION: In the ink tank 100, a prism-lever integrally molded member 2 in which a latch lever 3 for removably connected to a carriage, and a prism 6 for detecting the residual amount of the ink are integrally formed, is removably fitted on a case 1. A nail part 4 and a pin 5 are formed on the prism-lever integrally molded member 2, and these are removably fitted by inserting into a channel part 41 and a pin hole 51 formed on the case 1. The case 1 comprises a polypropylene with an eluation to the ink of≥0-0.005 wt.%, and the prism-lever integrally molded member 2 comprises a polypropylene material or the like with a high optical transmission and a high material strength, and containing the eluation or the like to the ink.
