[Also in Division F4] A food carrier comprises at least two bodies of thermally insulating material formed with opentopped compartments and having edge portions which engage when the bodies are stacked. A lid is shaped to engage the upper edge portion of the upper body. As illustrated, an upper body 1 has an upper stepped edge 3 to be engaged by a lid 9, and a lower stepped edge 4 to engage a complementary edge of a lower body 2. The bodies have compartments for holding beverages, food, cutlery, crockery &c. Two projections 8 aid the location of the lid, and an opening 11 in the lid communicates with a central compartment of the upper body to facilitate grasping of a handle 10. When the bodies and lid are assembled, they may be held together by strips or sheets of adhesive material, Fig. 2 (not shown). Alternatively, the edges of the bodies may be coated with an adhesive substance. The bodies may be made of low-density plastics material. |
