<p>PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst and a catalytic reactor. The wear and damage of the catalyst due to dust in exhaust gas are prevented by coating esp. the gas inlet side tip of the catalyst with a substance based on a biphosphate, etc. and heating them to strengthen the catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A honeycomb-shaped catalyst constituting a fixed bed having through holes in the gas flow direction and used in treating dust-contg. exhaust gas is strengthened as follows; the gas inlet side tip or all of the catalyst is dipped in a slurry of a substance contg. more than 0.5, esp. more than 3 wt% of a biphosphate, e.g. calcium biphosphate or a condensed phosphate, e.g. Na2H2P4O12. Other components of the slurry are aggregate, water, silicic acid, etc. The dipped catalyst is then heated and calcined usually at 200-1000 deg.C. The catalyst thus strengthened is packed into all or part of the packed bed or the gas inlet side end.</p> |
