<p>PURPOSE:To secure a constant coupling loss for the oscillator at the cable fault occurring time by coupling the monitoring oscillator output of each repeater in the submarine coaxial cable system to the signal system inside the repeating amplifier via the hybrid transformer, and thus to increase the accuracy of the faulty position search right near the amplifier. CONSTITUTION:In the group-based two-way submarine coaxial cable system using the single-line cable, the repeating amplifier contains monitor oscillator SV-OSC to perform the faulty area search in the case of the repeating transmission fault as well as to monitor the operation level of each repeater. Then the output of oscillator SV- OSC is connected in the repeating amplifier via hybrid transformer HYB-TR. The coupling loss is made constant for oscillator SV-OSC when the fault occurs in the cable right near the repeating amplifier. Thus, the effect given to the transmission characteristics can be deleted, and accordingly the searching accuracy can be increased at the cable fault occurring area.</p> |
