<p>1448083 Two-part couplings AMP CORP 29 April 1975 [25 June 1974] 17654/75 Heading H2E An electrical contact 1 comprises a crimping ferrule 2, a channel (preferably "V") shaped body, a resilient cantilever contact arm 9 connected to one wall of the channel by a bridge portion 4 the end of the arm being reversely bent under tabs 13, 14 which restrict the movement of the arm. The contact may be stamped from a single sheet of electrically conductive material. A plurality of the contacts may be inserted in elongate male and female housings 31 and 30 of insulating material, possibly for use with flat cables (Fig. 1, not shown). In connecting the contact to a flat cable, the teeth 21 and 22 pierce the cable insulation either side of the conductor and then are bent to form a crimp connection with the conductor.</p> |
