PURPOSE:To accelerate the atomization of fuel by the air stream flowing down through a throttle valve by locating the injection valve near the throttle valve as close as possible in an arrangement that one fuel injection valve is disposed in the throttle duct at the down stream of the throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:A vertical throllte duct 7 including a throttle valve 12 is coupled to the up stream of a horizontal inlet manifold assembly 3. Within this duct 7, a fuel injection port 14 of a fuel injection valve 13 is inserted at the down strem side of the throttle valve 12. The injection valve 13 is in communication with fuel tank 38 through a pump 37 and opend or closed by a control 39. The injection port 14 is located near the throttle valve 12 as close as possible and directed to the down stream side at least. In such arrangement, air passing the throttle valve 12 and having been accelerated in its flow speed strikes at the injection port 14, so the fuel injected from the injection port 14 is atomized quickly.
