A rotary ring for spinning and twisting frames comprises a spindle-carrying carriage on the frame ad an annular stator (11) fastened to the carriage. An annular rotor (13) is concentrically connected for rotation to the stator. A small ring-shaped rider is hooked to the rotor and slider on the stator, a part spaced from the sliding surface being shaped to permit passage of yarn. The sliding part pref. has a flat outward projection for resting against the stator, and an Sbent part for hooking the rider (21) to the rotor.
