PURPOSE:To improve ion passage rate without raising the electrode fields between a control electrode or common electrode and a recording body by providing an ion current orbit correcting electrode between the control electrode or common electrode of an ion current modulating electrode and an electric charge holding body. CONSTITUTION:An ion orbit correcting electrode 13 having an ion passage hole 13b is provided between the control electrode 4b of an ion current modulating electrode 4 and an electric charge holding body 6. If the potential inputted to the electrode 13 is set lower by about 300-500V than the potential of the control electrode during ion passage in the case of using, for example, positive ions, equipotential lines are as shown like solid lines, and the migration routes of the ion current are corrected as shown by broken lines, whereby the passage rate of the ions passing through an aperture 4c is improved and the recording speed is increased. |
