SUPERCONDUCTING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To provide sufficient space for a heat insulative load supporting body by constructing the frame of a vehicle and an outer tank of a superconducting magnet as an integral vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:A inner tank 2 for contg. liquid helium with a superconductive coil 1 in it is installed to a coil-to-coil supporting body 10 which is then installed via a heat insulating load supporting body 5 to a frame 7. A radiation shield plate 3 cooled by liquid nitrogen is provided to the heat insulating load supporting body 5 and to the inner circumference of the frame 7. A main liquid helium tank 6 is positioned near the inner tank 2 in the frame 7 which also serves as an outer tank. The frame 7 is installed via a suspension 8 to a vehicle body 9. With this integral structure of the frame and the outer tank, large heat insulating space is obtained, insulating distance for the heat insulating load supporting body 5 is extended, meaning that good heat insulating characteristics can be obtained with a simple cylindrical structure.
