PURIFICATION OF WASTE WATER

PURPOSE:To obtain highly purified water while enhancing the treating efficiency of waste water with active sludge, by charging finely-pulverized coral particles in an aerating cell to grow microbes on the surface of the particles and to lower BOD in the waste water. CONSTITUTION:Coral particles 3 to be used have particle sizes of 0.1-2mm.. The charge amount of the coral paticles 3 in an aerating cell 4 is controlled at 5- 20% by volume of the aerating cell 4. Air (a) is blown through a sparger 2 into the aerating cell 4 by a blower 1 to carry out aeration while dispersing the coral particles into the waste water. A precipitating-separating part 5 is provided to inhibit the outflow of the coral particles 3 deposited with the micro be outside the aerating cell 4. Since the coral particles 3 contain essential components necessary for the growth of microbes and continually maintain pH in the aerating cell 4 at about 6-8 suited to the growth of the microbes, the purifying of the waste water is remardably enhanced.
