The invention relates to pyridinone derivatives of general formula (I) as inhibitors for tissue transglutaminase, to methods for producing the pyridinone derivatives, to pharmaceutical compositions containing said pyridinone derivatives, and to the use of said pharmaceutical compositions to prevent and treat diseases associated with tissue transglutaminase.
