PURPOSE:To improve the treating efficiency of small bundle by enabling continuous feeding to small bundle counter/classifier when distributing a row of folded prints such as news papers coming from a rotary press to low speed small bundle counter/classifier and high speed standard bundle counter/classifier. CONSTITUTION:When transferring a row of news papers from a matrix separator 7 through a direction exchanger 8, a plurality of carriers 10-17 and a storage carrier 6 to small bundle counter/classifier 5 with high speed same with that of rotary press, a discharge pulley 37 is stopped upon reaching of the leading end of matrix to a sensor 18 to separate the matrix. Upon detection of passage of the tail of said matrix through an exchanger 8, said exchanger is exchanged to transfer the following matrix through a carrier 9 to the standard bundle counter/classifier 4. During this interval, the carry path between the exchanger 8 and the small bundle counter/classifier 5 is exchanged to low speed drive while upon detection of the trailing edge of matrix by a sensor 19, the discharge pulley 37 is stopped again to perform separation again. |
