PURPOSE:To improve the welding operability under a low current condition, and to reduce the cost by making a raw material powder of a burning type flux contain an alumina cement of a correct quantity. CONSTITUTION:In a flux raw material powder whose main components are SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, Fe2O3, etc., an alumina cement is contained by <=75wt% against the whole flux. This raw material is granulated by adding a water glass, burned, and a submerged arc welding flux is obtained. By using this flux, the welding operability in case of a small heat input welding is improved, and also the flux can be obtained at a low cost. |
