Process for the expedient production of the redox potential in the simultaneous separating out of SO2 and NOx

The invention relates to a process for the simultaneous separating out of SO2 and NOx downstream of power stations having differing pHs in the scrubbing stages. It has already been proposed in a process of this type to add, as inoculant, sodium dithionite or an equivalent reducing agent to the scrubbing circulation to increase the redox potential. To establish the redox potential, according to the invention it is proposed that this is established in a purely chemical way by addition of reducing agents such as sodium dithionite and similar reducing agents and/or that this is additionally or solely established in an electrochemical way.
