PURPOSE:To maintain a satisfactory cleaning action for a long time by abutting slowly a cleaning blade on an image carrier upon abutting and separating the cleaning blade prior to stoppage at stopping the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A cam 7 and a cam follower 5 turn clockwise against a spring 6 through an intermediate gear 12, etc., due to the activation of a photosensitive body drive motor, and the cleaning blade 1 abuts on a photosensitive body when the cam follower 5 separates from a lever 17a, Simultaneously the energization of a solenoid turns a bell crank 9 counterclockwise against a spring 10, and the other end 16a of the lever 16 enters the turning course position of the cam follower 5. When it turns further to stop the action of the cam 7, it abuts on the surface 16d of the lever end 16a. By turning off the drive motor the energy of the solenoid 8 is reduced to return the bell crank 9 and the lever 16 to a full line, and the lever end 16a is retreated, and therefore the cam follower 5 suddenly causes a supporting member 17 located on alternate long and two dashes lines to turn counterclockwise due to the action of the spring 6, whereby the blade 1 is separated from the photosensitive body. |
