In circular coolers (1) the product which is to be dried or cooled is intermittently tipped from a perforated floor (5) on to the next lower perforated floor. The product thus piles up on the perforated floor in layers of unequal thickness and this leads to different degrees of drying or cooling of the product. It is therefore necessary to try to achieve the most uniform layer height possible on the perforated floors. This is achieved by providing a levelling bar (6) which is carried on a support system (21), capable of pivoting in a swinging manner around a stationary pivoting axis (23) and running essentially transversely to the direction of movement of the product. |
