<p>A spout assembly is disclosed for use in feeding gobs of molten glass to a glassware forming machine. The assembly includes a spout bowl (12) and at least one burner block (18) positioned on top of the spout bowl (12). A cover block (22) is on top of the burner block (18) covering at least a portion of the interior of the spout bowl (12) and the cover block (22) has a projection (74) extending downwardly. This projection (74) has an outer surface (76) tapering downwardly and inwardly and spaced from the internal wall of the burner block.</p>
