PURPOSE:To permit cooling of a recording layer at an adequate cooling rate by forming the titled medium in such a manner that the boundary face between a 1st protective layer and the recording layer and a boundary face between the recording layer and the 2nd protective layer have rugged parts. CONSTITUTION:The rugged parts are formed at the boundary face between the 1st protective layer 12 and the recording layer 13 and the boundary face between the recording layer 13 and the 2nd protective layer 14. Recording pits are formed by changing the shapes of the rugged parts according to the combinations of the materials of the recording layer 13 and the materials of the protective layers 12, 14 at the time of projecting a light beam 18 on the recording layer 13 and forming the recording pits to the irradiated part. Fine adjustment of the quantity of the heat to be released from the protective layers 12, 14 is thereby permitted in such a manner that the adequate cooling rate of the recording layer 13 is attained. The effective formation of the recording pits is thus possible. |
