<p>A false twisting machine and method are disclosed in which the filaments of a yarn can be sufficiently crimped with the use of a heater having a length of less than 1.0 m. To this end, feed rollers (3), a heater (4) and a false twisting means (5) are sequentially disposed in the advancing direction of a yarn (1') substantially on a staight line. The distance between the feed rollers and the upstream end of the heater is less than 300 mm, and the length of the heater is greater than 300 mm but less than 1,000 mm. According to the present invention, the length of the heater (4) can be greatly reduced by maintaining the heater at a relatively higher temperature while taking account of self heating of the yarn during drawing and/or false twisting of the nylon yarn.</p> |
