<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a lightweight sandwich construction material excellent in strength, rigidity, twisting resistance, etc., by weaving a double woven fabric in which an upper cloth and a lower cloth form cover layers and are connected with pile yarns from fiber yarns comprising a polymer consolidated with heat and then heat-treating the woven fabric. CONSTITUTION: An upper and a lower cloths of a double woven fabric are woven from fibers or yarns comprising at least one polymer consolidated or set by heat such as a polyester, a polyamide, polypropylene, polyacrylonitrile, polytetrafluoroethylene or an aramid. The upper and lower cloths form cover layers and a sandwich structure connected with pile yarns. Thereby, the double woven fabric is heat-treated at a temperature not lower than the glass transition point of the polymer to carry out a consolidating treatment.</p> |
