<p>PURPOSE:To surely track the right and left contour positions of a linear object despite the break of a picture or the presence of background noises and to accurately check the wiring state by tracking the peak position of the differential absolute value where the output received from a coding circuit is changed to a negative state from a positive state. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup pattern photographed by an image pickup device 14 undergoes the A/D conversion, and the data on the digitized gradation picture is stored in a picture memory 16. A line segmenting circuit 17 segments successively and vertically the lines out of the picture data for the part corresponding to a wire picture. Then a tilt detecting circuit 19 detects the tilt of a differential absolute value signal, and a coding circuit 20 performs a coding job based on the result of the detected tilt. Then a peak detecting circuit 21 detects the peak position of the differential absolute value on a coded line. Thus it is possible to accurately track the right and left contour positions of each wire despite the break of the wire picture or the presence of the background noises. Then the wiring state of a linear object is automatically and accurately checked.</p> |
