The device comprises a housing (10) with a circular passage orifice, a closing element (28) mounted pivotably in the housing (10), and an annular gasket (30) surrounding the said orifice and capable of interacting with the peripheral part of the closing element (28). The gasket (30) is mounted on a fixed support, and the closing element (20) is displaceable along an axis perpendicular relative to its pivot axis. The device is provided more particularly for pipelines for transport of coal dust.
