A handle (2) is attached to the door of a motor vehicle by means of a projection (8). This projection (8) is in the form of a small rectangular frame in which a block (10) is pivoted on a pin (10) which engages holes in opposite walls (8a,8b) of the projection (8). This block (10) has a tapped hole for a screw (13) which is inserted through a hole in the side member (6) of the door frame and thus secures the handle to the door.
