The new aromatic ether imides corresponding to the following formula <IMAGE> may be used for the production of plastics which in turn may be worked up into moulded articles, films, sheet products and filaments. The plastics produced from the new aromatic ether imides are distinguished by their exceptional dimensional stability under heat.
