The invention relates to a detergent for linen in a water-soluble sachet containing a predetermined amount of detergent, comprising: 1) a sachet made of water-soluble film based on poly(vinyl alcohol) containing at least 30% by weight of poly(vinyl alcohol) chosen from: a) water-soluble films composed essentially of a poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer, optionally partially crosslinked, obtained from partial hydrolysis of poly(vinyl acetate) consisting <IMAGE> with a molecular weight of between 5,000 and 100,000, in which the degree of hydrolysis x/x + y in mol % is from 80% to 92%, b) water-soluble films composed essentially of a water-soluble copolymer of poly(vinyl alcohol) and of acrylic acid, optionally partially crosslinked, consisting of units of <IMAGE> with a molecular weight of between 5,000 and 100,000, and where X = H, Na, K, NH4 or a C1-C6 alkanolamine and where the m/m + n ratio in mol % is from 30% to 95%; 2) a detergent composition as a powder containing: a) at least one detergent surface-active agent; b) a bleaching agent; c) a partially hydrated alkali metal metasilicate in which the water content is between 10 and 40% by weight; d) optionally at least one detergency adjuvent, additional detergency agents and fillers.
