The measurement device contains a sensor with a connected drive which rotates an indicator element about an axis. A first locking part (1) connected to the indicator element (10) forms a lock for the indicator with a second part (2) attached to the housing. Both locking parts lie on a common engagement path (4). A control part (24-26) displaces one locking part out of the engagement path in only one rotation direction of the indicator element and over a defined angle about the engagement position. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for measuring temp. or press., arrangement maintains warning indication in event of mains failure if temp. limit is violated.
