A splice comprises a strap to bridge a first panel and a second panel, the strap comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, a first side, and a second side opposite the first side. The top surface defines a flat middle region, a flat first tapered region extending from proximate the middle region to proximate the first side, and a flat second tapered region extending from the middle region to proximate the second side. A first fitting is associated with the first stringer, the first fitting comprising a first tapered section contacting at least a portion of the first tapered region of the strap and extending from proximate the middle region to proximate the first side of the strap and a first flat section extending beyond the first side of the strap. A second fitting is associated with the second stringer, the second fitting comprising a second tapered section contacting at least a portion of the second tapered region of the strap and extending from proximate the middle region to proximate the second side of the strap and a second flat section extending beyond the second side of the strap, wherein the first fitting and the second fitting are spaced apart by the middle region of the strap. |
