The invention relates to an article which can form a sealed branch joint between a heat-shrink sleeve and substrates of each of at least two different configurations. It includes two parts (7, 8) which can be softened by heat and placed between substrates inside the sleeve. The shape of one of the parts, in transverse section, corresponds to a first configuration of branch, and that of the second part corresponds to a second configuration of branch. Means (3) make it possible to limit the flow of the material when it is heated, in a direction substantially perpendicular to the transverse sections of the parts.
