Method for sealing a core hole in a casting using a sealing plug, the sealing plug being fitted into the core hole, and the sealing plug being provided with a number of fixing elements which extend substantially transversely with respect to the direction in which the sealing plug is pushed in, outside the contour of this plug, and, when the sealing plug is being positioned, are held between the sealing plug and the casting in such a manner that, when a force is exerted on the sealing plug in a direction which is substantially opposite to the direction in which it is pushed in, the fixing elements are at least partially pressed into the casting and hold the sealing plug in place in the core hole. <IMAGE>
